Grossman was a charter member of the League of Women Voters and of the Cleveland Women's City Club.
She was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1912 and ran her own law firm until she was elected as Cleveland Municipal Court judge in 1923. She was Ohio's first female Municipal Court judge.
