FAST FACTS: 

As a youngster traveling through Israel, Winger joined the Israeli Children's Training Army, serving about three months before returning to the United States.

Later, she moved to California and found herself employed with an amusement park. A serious accident encouraged her to turn to acting. 

Winger ultimately received Oscar nominations for her roles in An Officer and a Gentleman and Terms of Endearment. She also played the role of Wonder Girl on the 70's television show, Wonder Woman.
