FAST FACTS:

McGuffey wrote his famous Peerless Pioneer Readers from 1826 to 1836. They were first published in 1836 and quickly became some of the most popular and effective educational tools in the United States. He only receivied $1,000.00 for his efforts.

It was said that McGuffey had no real interest in money. He was simply dedicated to the cause of education.
